I am an on-location, natural light photographer based in Dallas, Texas. My style is based on beautiful light, pastels, and intimate connections. My goal is to beautifully capture the most precious moments in your life in a way that you will cherish for many years to come. I can't wait to get to know you!
Subtly coordinated attire for all members looks best for newborn family photoshoots. You want the outfits to complement one another and, ideally, be in the same color palette. Light neutral and pastel colors bring the soft feeling to this type of session.
At the same time, there’s no need to stress about having perfectly matching outfits. For one, your family has enough things going on without needing to go out and buy anything new. Plus, I think the best photos are candid and not quite too “perfect.”
Congratulations mama! You made it through 9 months and the incredible journey that is giving birth. You couldn’t wait to take these photos, but getting dressed for them can suddenly take you outside your comfort zone.
I recommend that moms wear white, pastel, or light-colored clothing. Maxi dresses in particular, look so pretty. To bring that soft vibe, I also recommend you choose comfortable, flowy clothes.
When you book a newborn session with me, you will have the option to chose a dress from my client closet. Reach out to me if you’re interested!
Just like for moms, I think dads look great in lighter colors — and that goes for both shirts and pants.
There’s no need to be overly formal, so for shirts, I usually suggest a button-down or a neutral t-shirt. For pants, I’ve found that light-colored, “nicer” pants such as khakis look good in photos without making dad feel uncomfortable for the shoot.
Calling all girl moms:) As I’ve suggested above, I think the simpler, the better for outfits, but I do know there’s so much fun to be had to choose your little girl’s outfit for this shoot.
At a minimum, a white onesie, little dress, or blanket look lovely on baby girls. We can’t forget the traditional pink, of course – an outfit in a light shade of pink is definitely beautiful.
If you want to dress up your girl a little bit more, a fun bow or pretty hairband are great options. Who hasn’t smiled seeing a photo of a cute baby girl with a giant flower headband on?
Baby boys are almost the easiest to choose outfits for. I say go with a neutral such as white, cream, or gray, and you’re basically set!
Just as pink can be a color to consider for baby girls, having your baby boy wear traditional blue is also something to consider. However, I still advocate finding something in a light blue if you go this route.
I feel like the moments that are captured during newborn photoshoots are so tender and sweet. I love snapping a photo of little details like teensy baby feet or mom and dad’s hands cradling their adorable new little one.
From my experience, taking a moment to consider what you and your family will wear for this type of shoot will enhance photos that I know you will treasure for years to come.
