Ya’ll. It is HOT out there in north Texas. The next few weeks are predicted to be in the high 90s and low 100s. I don’t know about you, but I’m spending my free time at the pool with LOTS of sunscreen. And while I never say no to outdoor photo shoots, I’m definitely thankful that I can book sessions at my Dallas natural-light photography studio to save clients (and myself!) from the rising temperatures. 

But all this heat has me dreaming of fall weather. I shot this family session a few weeks ago when we had some surprisingly mild weather for early summer, and it gave me all the fall vibes. As I was editing these photos, I kept thinking about pine-scented candles, pumpkin spice lattes, and crisp autumn weather. Maybe it’s just that this family exudes such warmth for each other, making me nostalgic for that cozy time of year. 

This session also reminded me that while, yes, our AC units are working overtime right now, fall is really just around the corner. Here are a few reasons it’s not too early to book me as your DFW fall photographer!

1) As a Dallas-Fort Worth Photographer, Fall is one of the Busiest Times of Year for Me

I know I’m not biased in my love of autumn in Texas: September to the end of the year seems to be everyone’s favorite time to book photo sessions in DFW. The weather tends to be gorgeous, especially for those golden-hour photos when the sun is setting and the air is crisp and cool. According to Zola.com, October also tends to be one of the most popular months for weddings in Texas, so that’s another reason to contact me early about your special occasion or family photography and make sure I have a spot for you.

2) Schedule a Fall Session To Have Something to Look Forward To

Whether you’re already waiting for this heat to end or you love everything about summer, booking a photo session in advance gives you something to look forward to as we trudge through July and August or as your vacations come to an end. A photography session—whether for family, milestone, maternity, or other occasion—is such a fun way to slow down and connect with the ones you love. You can even plan to make a date or family outing of it with dinner or dessert after your session. Last but not least, fall is the perfect time to schedule your family holiday photos! It may seem a bit early to be thinking about Thanksgiving and Christmas, but I know from experience how quickly the holidays can sneak up on you. You’ll feel so ahead of your holiday planning when you book your family photographer in advance, and you’ll receive your perfectly edited gallery with plenty of time to order holiday cards or to gift prints to family and friends!
