I am an on-location, natural light photographer based in Dallas, Texas. My style is based on beautiful light, pastels, and intimate connections. My goal is to beautifully capture the most precious moments in your life in a way that you will cherish for many years to come. I can't wait to get to know you!
As a Dallas family photographer who loves natural light, golden outdoor sessions, and cozy vibes, fall might be my favorite season in north Texas. The summer heat is finally coming to an end, and I’m so ready to embrace the cooler weather with all of you!
Even though this is my busy season (and I can’t wait for fall family sessions!), I try to take advantage of all the cozy, autumnal activities DFW has to offer this time of year. As a mom of three toddlers, I’m always looking for fun ways to pass the time, easy outings, and picture-perfect moments to share with my family. Here are a few of the activities I’m hoping to try this year!

Autumn at the Arboretum (Sept 21-Nov 3):
Perhaps one of DFW’s most celebrated fall activities, Autumn at the Arboretum never disappoints. I am always amazed that they decorate the park with over 100,000 pumpkins! This year’s theme is “Texas Town,” and will take visitors on a journey through Texas pioneer life. I’m so excited to see how they pull it off! While the pumpkin patches usually provide plenty of entertainment for all the kids, don’t forget to check out the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden, complete with splash fountains and educational activities for kids of all ages! On select days this November, Children’s Garden admission is included with general admission.
Pumpkin Patches: Two of Our Favorites
Fritz Park (Oct 5th-Nov 3rd) is one of our favorite spots for fall fun. Extremely affordable, this giant petting zoo not only offers one of the best pumpkin patches but also includes a hay maze, cutesy Halloween activities (like a “spooky” barn), and mini horse rides! Located in Irving, this one is an easy drive from most Dallas suburbs.
Goober Bub’s (Opens Sept 28) is an adorable family-run orchard and bakery that hosts a picturesque pumpkin patch, complete with traditional hay rides. We went last year and loved that you get to cut your pumpkins right off the vine! Throw in their delicious apple cider donuts and other homemade treats and you might have a hard time leaving. Located in Justin, TX., it may be more of a drive for some families, but it’s a wonderful opportunity to get out of the city this season!
Denton Day of the Dead Festival (Oct 25-27):
Dia de Los Muertos is a Mexican holiday celebrating deceased loved ones. It’s usually observed around Halloween and the traditional Catholic feasts of All Saints and All Souls Day. As a Mexican woman, I love the opportunity to share parts of my culture with my kids. Denton’s Day of the Dead Festival is “an inclusive, family-friendly festival, celebrating culture and community, that pays homage to the many wonderful things fall has to offer: the goodness of the harvest, the Dia de Los Muertos holiday, and all things Halloween!” With a costume contest, a pumpkin patch, and even “Coffin Races,” this festival aims to keep things silly and fun for even the smallest attendees.
Backyard Family Movie:
If you’re looking for a cozy activity that doesn’t require leaving the house, a backyard family movie is the perfect option! You can find affordable projectors online and use a large white sheet hung against the house for a screen. Set up lawn chairs or create a cozy nest with blow-up mattresses, pillows, and blankets. Bonus points for choosing a classic fall family movie like Hocus Pocus, Coco, or Casper. Bring out the popcorn and apple cider and enjoy the earlier sunsets and cooler weather (bye-bye mosquitos!).
PS. Don’t forget to photograph all the cute moments so you can cherish these memories forever! Are you getting excited for fall? What are some of your favorite DFW autumn activities?
