When you choose me as your photographer, you can browse the various collections I offer, but I wanted to dedicate this blog to describing the differences between my Portrait and Petite Collections.

The Portrait Collection

I like to tell my clients that my Portrait Collection offers a longer session dedicated to telling a story through photos. Sessions at this level are at least one hour and they include a variety of image compositions—plenty of candids, lots of different poses and groupings, even some outfit changes. I guide clients through authentic interactions so that their gallery unfolds like a storybook, each image building on the next to give a full glimpse of a family’s relationships. For outdoor photos, I often love starting the session a little before golden hour so that you can see the way the light changes over the course of the gallery. 

Portrait Collections work wonderfully for maternity photos—where Mama can change wardrobe a few times and we can take advantage of different poses to show off her bump and capture that anticipatory glow of motherhood—and for family photos when it’s been several years since you’ve taken professional images and you want to chronicle the growing relationships in your family. (I also have a separate collection specifically for newborns.)

At this level, you’ll have access to my exclusive client closet with 50+ dresses for moms. You also have your choice of any location in DFW, from outdoor settings to my Dallas studio. Your investment includes a client prep guide and a virtual consultation to discuss wardrobe and location so that we’re all on the same page and you have the resources to create beautiful, timeless photos.

The Petite Collection

Maybe you took professional family photos last year but you’d like a small gallery of updated holiday photos. Maybe your baby is turning one and you’d like to commemorate the milestone with a quick session. The Petite Collection offers a shorter session (up to 30 minutes) to capture these important moments in life at a lower price. While I always strive for candid, lifestyle photos, the gallery will contain less variety than that of a Portrait Collection. The Petite Collection also works great when you have kids (or, let’s face it, some adults) who get restless during long sessions. It’s short and sweet, and you have a beautiful gallery of up to 15 images. 

While, at this level, you won’t have access to my client-wardrobe, you’ll still receive a virtual consultation to discuss wardrobe and location. You’ll have the option to shoot at a pre-selected DFW location or at my studio.
