This momma wanted an in-home maternity session so the photos could capture a behind-the-scenes glimpse of their preparations for their baby boy. I adored photographing this couple in their home in Dallas, since it so perfectly portrayed their sense of style, as well as the love they share for each other and their baby-on-the-way. This couple shared that they had just recently moved into their home, so it was extra special to photograph them in a space they’d chosen specifically for their growing family. 

Their airy, light-filled nursery exemplifies the sense of hope intrinsic to pregnancy, while the soft blue rug and calming details accentuate this mother’s serenity and grace. Dad’s neutral wardrobe complements Mom’s while keeping the focus on the soon-to-be three of them.

Capturing Authentic Moments

What I especially loved about this session was the way it reveals not only the love between momma and baby, but also the love between these expectant parents. Their tenderness is so sweetly apparent, and I really felt that the in-home location helped this couple show their true-selves, enabling us to capture their deep, abiding connection. 

This session is a wonderful reminder of how family can be deeply rooted in the love between parents: you can just imagine how this baby boy will learn to show love by watching his parents interact with such devotion and gentleness. White Rock Lake: Another Perfect Maternity Session Location

We were able to finish this maternity session at White Rock Lake during golden hour for some beautiful, light-filled shots. I feel like these outdoor photos really round-out the gallery because they highlight that tranquility this momma so embodies. Her ethereal dress is the perfect contrast to the golden grass and dreamy light. Once again, this couple showed their love and connection just by being themselves and having fun.
